Still I dream!!!!!!!!!!!

50 years ago, Martin Luther King delivers his famous I have a dream speech in Washington. Wow, 50 years ago today. I was 6 years old. What was I going through at that time? That is not important. What were we as a people going through? Well, I think at that time in certain parts of the world we could go through the same doors. I thank God for the people who arose before me. The real heroes who marched, and marched peacefully. Those who realized that when wrong was done to them, they became more determined to do right. Those who realized it was not about the fight, but about their right. We were not fighting for fighting sake like Muhammad Ali in the ring to win a title. We were fighting for our rights even for lives. Today as we remember the speech, and we continue to hear on the news shootings and murders in alarming numbers, WE must not forget how the times have turned. WE have come a long ways, and we have such a long ways to go. As we move forward, each step we take should bring us closer to peace to equality. We must love one another more than we hate. We must share our resources, our treasures, and our talents. We must be the change we want to see. We must celebrate when our younger generation does something positive, and help them when they have fallen by the wayside showing them the path to deliverance the way onward. We must stop turning on one another and turn towards each other. Yes, my dream is for this world, especially my sisters. That we take our power back and recognize who we are. To understand the role we play, how we must raise the bar, and stop going to the bar (just making a point). We must stand together and stop faking it with each other. Still I dream, I hope others are dreaming as well. I end my thoughts with Dr. Kings very own................... Let us not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today my friends -- so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/08/27/transcript-martin-luther-king-jr-have-dream-speech/#ixzz2dJ1pwfev
